A widely circulating video showing a person covered with a plastic body bag, sneezing, and then apologizing, claims to be of a Palestinian from Gaza pretending to be dead. This claim is part of the “Pallywood” campaign that casts doubt on the existence and number of Palestinians killed and wounded in the Gaza Strip, accusing Palestinians of staging scenes to gain international sympathy.
Kashif verified the authenticity of the video and found it to be misleading. The video is excerpted from the Israeli comedy show “Eretz Nehederet,” which airs on Channel 12 in Hebrew and is one of the most famous comedy shows in Israel.
The Israeli left-wing website “Sicha Mekomit” criticized this satirical approach to the issue of martyrs and their numbers after attaching a screenshot from the excerpted video from the show.
