Social media accounts have been circulating an image claiming to show the entrance of a tunnel, and that the Israeli occupation army discovered the Hamas tunnel beneath its top military command site in the city of Gaza. Describing the tunnel as advanced with an elevator and a depth of 30 meters.
Kashif verified the authenticity of the image and found it to be old. It was published in March by several media outlets with the indication that Reuters photographer Amir Cohen took it on 21 March 2014 on the border of the Gaza Strip. The image was also published in The Washington Post on 27 March 2014 and on Al Jazeera’s website on 31 March 2014.
