Social media accounts posted a photo of a child, claiming that she was killed in the Gaza Strip, and named Celine Mahna.
Kashif verified the claim and found it to be fabricated. Via “Google Images” tool, Kashif found that the photo is of young girl Basmala Luay Hamdan from the town of Qasra, southeast of Nablus.
Kashif’s team contacted the father, Louay Hamdan, who confirmed that the photo was of his daughter, 11-year-old Basmala Louay Hamdan, from the town of Qusra, southeast of Nablus, and not from the Gaza Strip. Hamdan added that his daughter is fine and well.
Hamdan also posted on his Facebook account a group of photos of the little girl, Basmala, from different places and times.
According to the latest update of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics dated 26/11/2024, the number of child killed by Israel has stands at 17,492 since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on 7/10/2023.
