Social media accounts posted a video clip showing Israeli army bulldozers penetrating the southern suburbs of Beirut. The video was accompanied by the following claim: “Israel has reached the southern suburbs and the media of the “axis of enjoyment” says that they are fighting ghosts.” The accounts added in the video description: “They are working to steal Ukrainian clips and publish them showing the (Radwan) battalions fighting.”

Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. The video is from Tulkarm in the West Bank, not the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Using the “INVID” tool Kashif found that the “Arabi Post” account on “X” had published the video on 1/10/2024, and explained that it was of “Israeli military reinforcements accompanied by bulldozers towards Tulkarm camp.”

Journalist Hamza Hamdan, who is in Tulkarm, confirmed to Kashif that the video of the Israeli occupation bulldozers is from Tulkarm and not the southern suburb. He added that the area shown in the video is Al-Ittisalat Street at the Al-Shahed junction near Tulkarm camp.

Hamdan explained that the occupation army withdrew from Tulkarm at dawn on Tuesday 1/10/2024 after storming Tulkarm camp and destroying the infrastructure and citizens’ property, and violent clashes erupted inside the camp.

The Israeli occupation army announced last Monday night the start of “limited, localized and specific ground operations” targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, and announced this morning, Wednesday 2/10/2024, the joining of the 36th Division and the Etzioni Brigade to the ground operations.
