Social media accounts posted a photo showing soldiers in the Israeli occupation army and a woman, claiming that it belongs to the citizen Mahmoud Talal Abdullah, nicknamed Abu Talal, disguised as a woman during his arrest by the Israeli occupation army. The photo was accompanied by the following claim: “A photo of Abu Talal disguised as a woman.”
Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. Photographer, journalist Jaafar Shtayyeh, told Kashif that the photo shows a displaced woman from Jenin camp. He added that two photos were taken, one of which is the circulated photo of a woman and the second of citizen Mahmoud Talal Abdullah, nicknamed Abu Talal, when they were displaced from Jenin camp near the Return Roundabout.
The Al-Mossad team also contacted the woman who appears in the photo, Sanaa Abdul Latif Turkman from Ya’bad, who is married in Jenin camp, and she confirmed that she is the one who appears in the photo, adding that she was displaced from the camp today, Friday, 1/24/2025, from her home in the Abdullah Azzam neighborhood, accompanied by her children.
Journalist Ameed Shahada, who is works in Jenin, denied the claim to Kashif and confirmed that the photo is of a woman while she was at a checkpoint at the Return Roundabout in the western area of Jenin camp, which is the only exit for the displaced persons from Jenin camp.
He added that this barrier is difficult and the inspection is very thorough, and electronic tools are used to take fingerprints of the eyes and faces of those leaving the camp.
Meanwhile, Brigadier Shahada said that Abu Talal’s fate is still unknown, and indicated that there is conflicting information about whether he is detained or will be released.
The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday 12/1/2025 the launch of “The Iron Wall” military operation in the Jenin camp called ”, which has so far resulted in 12 fatalities and about 50 wounded.
On Friday, 1/24/2025, the occupation forces arrested a number of citizens from Abdullah Azzam neighborhood and other neighborhoods in Jenin camp , according to the WAFA Agency.
