Social media accounts posted a picture of a huge fire, claiming that it was caused by the Israeli attack on Tehran at dawn on Saturday 26/10/2024 in Iran, “Breaking: Iran’s Karaj power plant now after being targeted.”
Kashif verified the image via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and was incorrectly linked to the explosions Saturday, 26/10/2024, as a result of the Israeli military attack on Iran. The image dates back to a fire in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in June 2021.

On 2/6/2021 Al-Mamlaka website published the photo in a report titled “A huge fire in a refinery south of Tehran, no casualties reported,” and the website stated in the photo’s description, “A fire broke out in a refinery in the south of the Iranian capital, Tehran. June 2, 2021. (AFP).”
The Iranian Air Defense Authority announced in a statement on Saturday, 26/10/2014 that the Israeli occupation army targeted military points in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam.
For its part, the Israeli occupation army announced that “the attack against Iran ended 4 hours after it began.”
