Popular Committee for Qalandia Camp Services denies Israeli calls on Kafr Aqab residence and Qalandia to head to Jerusalem

Information has spread on social media that the Israeli occupation has called on the people of Kafr Aqab and Qalandia to head to Jerusalem. The claim was as follows: “Peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings. With you is Captain Nevin. To the honorable people of Kafr Aqab and Qalandia, and especially those who hold Israeli IDs. Please leave the aforementioned neighborhoods and head to your homes in the city of Jerusalem during this difficult period because there will be a comprehensive closure on Judea and Samaria starting tonight.”

Kashif verified the information and found it to be fabricated. Kashif’s team contacted the spokesman for the Popular Committee for Qalandia Camp Services, Radi Yaqoub, who in turn denied the accuracy of this information and confirmed that it was fabricated.

Kashif’s team also contacted journalist Ishaq Kasba from Qalandia camp, who explained that this information is incorrect, and confirmed that there was no invasion of Qalandia camp and Kafr Aqab, but rather a normal crisis. Kasba stated that the occupation intelligence officer responsible for Kafr Aqab and Qalandia is called Hamza, not Nevin. 

For his part, Atta Jaber also confirmed that the Israeli occupation intelligence officer responsible for the Kafr Aqab and Qalandia areas is called Hamza and has a Facebook page called “Captain Hamza“. He added that “Captain Hamza” did not publish any information related to the circulated message, while the last thing he published on his Facebook page was announcing a curfew in the Qalandia camp on 24/7/2024.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said that the number of military occupation checkpoints in the West Bank governorates reached 898 military checkpoints and gates, including more than 173 iron gates that were placed after 7/10/2023, and including 17 gates that were placed since the beginning of this year 2025.

Today, Tuesday 12/1/2025, the Israeli occupation also tightened its military measures at most of the entrances and exits of Palestinian cities in the West Bank, and set up military gates and checkpoints between them.

The Israeli occupation army announced today, Tuesday 21/1/2025, the launch of a military operation in the Jenin camp, which has so far resulted in killing of two Palestinians and about 25 injuries, according to the latest update from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
