A video clip of a huge fire at a bus stop has recently been widely shared on “X“, with the claim that the fire is in Tel Aviv, “A huge fire broke out in Tel Aviv, and the causes are still unknown.”

One source of the claim

Kashif verified the video via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and the claim is misleading. The video dates back to a fire that broke out in passenger buses in the city of Safad in 2022, not in Tel Aviv. 

Al Jazeera published the video on 11/6/2022 on YouTube, “18 passenger buses catching fire in the city of Safad in the occupied Galilee.” The circulated clip falls between 0.13 seconds and 0.23 seconds.

The channel stated in the video description that “the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that 18 passenger buses caught fire as a result of a fire that broke out early in the morning in the parking lot of the central station in the city of Safad in the occupied Galilee. Video clips published by local media showed the charred buses designated for transporting passengers, while the Broadcasting corporation announced that the circumstances of the fire are being investigated.”

Al- Jarmaq News Channel also published the video on YouTube on 11/6/ 2022, “A noticeable escalation in chaos and insecurity in Israel… A huge fire devours 18 buses at the central station in Safad.”

The Israeli occupation army announced at dawn on Thursday, 3/10/2024, that it had spotted two drones in Bat Yam, located south of Tel Aviv. It confirmed that it had intercepted one of them, while the second fell in an open area.
