Old video from Syria circulates as from southern Lebanon

A video clip has spread on social media showing a number of soldiers being targeted, with the claim that they were soldiers from the Israeli occupation army targeted in southern Lebanon, “A number of Israeli soldiers fell into a tight ambush by Hezbollah fighters, who killed and wounded them.”

Kashif verified the video via Google search, and found that the video is old and incorrectly linked. The video was published by the Lebanese Forces account on YouTube on 18/8/2016 with the title: “Targeting a group that was trying to storm the air force base in Ramouseh, Aleppo.”

Orient News account on YouTube also published the same video on 20/8/2016, titled: “Two TOW missiles mow down Shiite militia elements in the Aleppo countryside.”

Hezbollah announced on Thursday 3/10/2024, a series of operations in southern Lebanon, including targeting a gathering in the south of the Israeli army between Shtula and Al-Raheb with a missile salvo, targeting a movement of army forces at the Al-Raheb site with artillery shells, and targeting a force of Israeli soldiers who tried to advance at the Fatima Gate with artillery shells.

The Israeli occupation army also announced on Thursday 3/10/2024, the death of the soldier “Ben Zion Falah” from the paratrooper unit in southern Lebanon, bringing the number of Israeli soldiers dead to 9 in two days in the battles in southern Lebanon.
