“موسكو| MOSCOW NEWS ” account on “X” published a photo of a plane and goods, claiming that it was a Saudi aid plane that had arrived in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, “Breaking: Saudi aid plane arrives in Beirut, as part of the relief air bridge announced by the Kingdom.”

One source of the claim

Kashif verified the image via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and incorrectly linked to the Saudi relief plane loaded with medical and food aid that arrived in Beirut. The image is of a Saudi aid plane arriving in Ukraine in 2023.

The website “ Asharq Al Awsat ” published the circulated photo on 3/4/2023 in a report titled “The arrival of the third Saudi relief plane to Poland, carrying 30 tons of aid for Ukraine.”
The website stated in the description of the photo: “The shipment consists of shelter materials, electric generators, and medical supplies.”

On Saturday, 12/10/2024, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced that “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will launch an air bridge to transport aid to Lebanon.”

Saudi planes took off on 13/10/2024 via the Saudi relief air bridge and headed to Rafik Hariri Airport in Beirut, carrying 46 containers of medical and therapeutic aid, in addition to tents.
