The Palestinian Observatory for Verification and Media Literacy (Kashif) participated in the Global Media and Information Literacy Week conference held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Wednesday and Thursday, 30-31 October 2024.
Director of Kashif, Reham Abu Aita, who was a speaker at the “Supporting Media and Information Literacy Efforts in Palestine” session, presented the experience of Kashif in introducing the culture of fact-checking in Palestine.
The session was organized in partnership with Pyalara Foundation and the Palestinian Ministry of Education and was moderated by the Evaluation and Quality Officer at the Media Development Center, Nibal Thawabteh.
Abu Aita spoke about the most prominent challenges facing fact-checkers and journalists in Palestine, in addition to the development of Kashif’s audience interaction and its role in the information verification process.
During the session, Abu Aita also presented documentation that clarifies the specificity of verifying information during the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.
