Information attributed to Israeli-Hebrew media has spread on social media, stating: “Israeli media: Shooting towards army personnel at the Qalandia checkpoint”.
The Israel affairs team at Kashif verified the information and found it to be fabricated. Kashif looked into the media and official Hebrew websites and found no mention of it.
The spokesman for the Qalandia Camp Services Popular Committee, Radi Yaqoub, denied to Kashif the accuracy of this information, confirming that it was a false report. Yaqoub explained that the Qalandia checkpoint, which is claimed to be the location of the shooting, is still open to vehicles and has not been closed.
