Accounts on X, formerly Twitter, posted a video of tearing children’s clothes and using them for their wounds during a filming session in Iraq, captioned: “Another one of their Pallywood project. When will the world stop buying these Arab despicable lies?”
Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. Videographer Murtada Falah, nicknamed Shulami, told Kashif that these scenes are from a special shoot session he filmed in Baghdad in 2019, and posted behind the scenes of the filming on 15 December 2022 on his TikTok, @1.q3i, and his Instagram account on 27 December 2023.
Farah published the final photos of the video session on 28 December 2023 on his Instagram account.
Since 7 October 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have committed several massacres in the Gaza Strip, which led to the killing of around 29,800 Palestinians, while over 8,000 others are still missing under the debris, and nearly 70,000 Palestinians were wounded according to the latest updates by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The claim comes as part of the “Pallywood” campaign which questions the numbers of Palestinians killed and wounded in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli army, and accuses Palestinians of acting out in order to gain international sympathy.
