A video clip showing a shelling on a residential area was widely shared on social media, accompanied by the following claim: “A video clip showing one of the raids that targeted Masyaf” in Syria.
Kashif verified the video via reverse search using the “INVID” tool, and found that it is old and incorrectly linked to the Israeli occupation’s bombing of the vicinity of the Syrian city of Masyaf. The video clip was published by Al- Arabi channel on its Facebook account on 8 August 2024, captioned: “Five wounded in an Israeli raid on the town of Hanawiya in the Tyre district, southern Lebanon”.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced in a statement on Thursday 8 August 2024, that five people were slightly injured as a result of an Israeli raid that targeted the town of Hanawiya, in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.
The Syrian News Agency reported today, Monday, 9 September 2024, that the number of people killed as a result of the Israeli bombing of the vicinity of the city of Masyaf in the Hama countryside rose to 16, in addition to 36 wounded, 6 of whom are in critical condition.
