Social media accounts posted a video of a soldier who was shot in the head, captioned: “The killing of the most dangerous sniper in the Israeli army, the commander of the sniper unit of the paratroopers Brigade by the terrifying Qassami Ghoul sniper in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood southwest of Gaza City.”
Kashif verified the video and found it to be old and the allegation to be misleading, the clip was posted first on 7 April 2016 and therefore it has nothing to do with the current aggression on the Gaza Strip, which began on 7 October 2023. However, Kashif could not confirm the authenticity and context of the video.
The Israeli occupation army announced, Wednesday, 31 January 2024, that four of its soldiers and officers were killed in the Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll to 561 since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza on 7 October, including 224 since the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip on the 27th of the same month, that doesn’t include the commander of the sniper unit.
