A recent video circulated on social media shows a large explosion in the middle of the Gaza Strip, with claims that it is a new incident in which people’s bodies were blown into the air by an Israeli airstrike. The video was shared with the caption: “Oh God, people flew up to the sky and came back down.”

Kashif verified the video and found that it had been edited by adding the sound of crying. The original video, which contains only the sound of explosions, was filmed by activist Abood Batah.
Kashif reached out to the video’s creator, activist Abood Batah, who clarified that the footage is old and was taken on 21/3/2025, during an Israeli airstrike on the Anwar Aziz area in Jabalia refugee camp. He added that the Israeli army had warned residents before the strike, and that most of the houses in the area were old and had tin roofs. Three people were killed in the attack.
Battah had published the video on his Instagram account @abood_gaza.6 on 21/3/2025, with the caption: “The occupation bombs a residential block in Jabalia refugee camp.”

According to the latest update from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip since 7/10/2023, has risen to 50,609 martyrs and 115,063 injuries.
