The “החדשות החמות” account published a photo of Amir Hammo, from the town of Yamoun, claiming it is the perpetrator of the Hebron operation that took place Sunday morning, Muhannad Al-Aswad. The photo was accompanied by the following text: “The perpetrator of the shooting operation near Hebron, in which 3 policemen were killed, was eliminated by Sheri forces. He had an M16 rifle next to him.”
Kashif verified the photo via reverse search on Google and found that it’s incorrectly linked. The photo is of the young man Amir Hammo from the town of Yamoun, who was with his brother and cousin on their motorcycle on Haifa Street near the entrance to the town of Kafr Dan, and military vehicles pursued them and his brother Abdullah Nasser Hammou and his cousin Muhammad Mahmoud Hammou before killing them.
Kashif also contacted Amir’s father who explained that this photo is of his son, who was arrested after the killing of his brother, Abdullah Nasser Hamou, and his cousin, Muhammad Mahmoud Hamou, while trying to deliver bread in Jenin. He added that the liaison informed them that Amir was fine and had not been killed.
Local Palestinian news agencies also published a photo of the perpetrator of the Hebron operation, Muhannad Muhammad Al-Souod, from the town of Idhna, northwest of Hebron.
On Sunday, 1 September 2024, the Israeli occupation forces surrounded a house near the security square in the city of Hebron and assassinated the perpetrator of the Tarqumiya operation that led to the killing of 3 officers from the Israeli police and border guard forces.
