Fake statement on operation length attributed to Al-Qassam Brigades

A statement has been circulating on WhatsApp groups, claiming that it was issued by the media office of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, talking about the difficulty of the Battle of the Flood of Al-Aqsa and that the movement is not close to achieving the goals of the battle and calling for the mobilization of the ranks of the people and national forces.

Kashif verified the statement and found that it was impersonated, as it was not published on the official website of Hamas, its channel, or the channel of its military wing on the Telegram platform.

Kashif contacted Mahmoud Mardawi, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau, who denied the statement, stressing that it was not issued by the movement or its military wing. 

The last statement issued by Hamas until the publishing of this verification on Wednesday 2/10/2024, in which the movement called for mobilization and participation in the “Friday to Stop the Aggression on Palestine and Lebanon.”

The latest statement issued by the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, was a video clip published on Wednesday, documenting the targeting of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the Tannour neighborhood east of Rafahcity in the southern Gaza Strip, in addition to a statement in which the Brigades announced their responsibility for the “Jaffa” operation.

Two young men from the city of Hebron carried out a stabbing and shooting operation in the occupied city of Jaffa on Tuesday 1/10/2024, which resulted in the killing of 7 people and the injury of 16 others.
