A video clip showing a submarine launching missiles from sea has been circulating on social media, with claims that it documents an Iranian submarine launching ballistic missiles towards Israel. The video was accompanied by the following text: “Iranian submarines launch missiles towards Israel.”

Kashif verified the video via Google Image search, and found that it was old and incorrectly linked to the 2022 Russian-Ukrainian war.

The video was published by Sky News on YouTube on 26 March 2022, with the following title: “Ukraine War: Russia Launches Missiles ‘From the Black Sea’ Targeting Ukraine.”

Sky News channel published the video on YouTube on 26/3/2022.

It was also posted on YouTube by the Navy Lookout account on 26 March 2022, with the following title: “Russian Buyan-M corvette launches Kalibr missiles at Ukraine.”

The military escalation between Iran and the Israeli occupation, which began on 13 June 2025, continued. Israel launched intensive raids as part of an operation dubbed “Rising Lion,” targeting nuclear facilities, sites, and military leaders inside Iran. In response, Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones targeting areas deep within the occupied territories. This escalation resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, while confrontations and mutual threats continue, amid international warnings of an escalation of the war.
