A video clip showing a huge explosion has recently spread on social media, with the claim that it was due to an explosion inside the Ramat David military base in Haifa, “Explosions inside the Ramat David base in Haifa as a result of missiles launched from Lebanon”.
Kashif verified the video via the “INVID” tool and found that it is old and incorrectly linked to the targeting of the “Ramat David” base of the occupying state. The video clip was published by Russia Today “RT Arabic” on 30 August 2024, along a group of videos and photos of the same event, in a report with the following title: “Yemen: 5 killed and dozens injured in a gas station explosion in Aden”.
The “ Yemeni Scene ” account on “X” also published the video clip on 30 August 2024, with the following text: “Huge explosions rock the city of Aden, due to a fire in two gas stations at the Hashed intersection in Mansoura District a short while ago, resulting in deaths and injuries”.
A report published by the Asharq Al-Awsat website on 31 August 2024 stated that an explosion occurred at a gas station on Friday evening, 30 August 2024, in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, killing 3 people and injuring 18 others.
Kashif’s team also examined the video and noticed that it included a text in Hebrew that read: “This time it is not about us: a gas explosion at a gas station in the city of Aden in Yemen”.
Hezbollah announced in a statement on Sunday morning, 22 September 2024, that it had targeted the Ramat David base and airport for the second time with several “Fadi” missiles.
