“GAZAWOOD – the PALLYWOOD saga” X account posted two photos of released prisoner Ibrahim Al-Shaweesh from the Gaza Strip, one before his capture and the other after his release from Israeli prisons, and attached the two photos with the following text: “Seeking public assistance. I can’t find official info on ‘Ibrahim Mohammad Khaleel al-Shaweesh’. Claims say that he was released, but he’s not yesterday’s prisoners list.” and attached a link that includes the names of the prisoners whom the Ministry of Justice in the Israeli occupation government announced would be released in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. Thus, casting doubt on Israel’s arrest of the released prisoner Ibrahim Al-Shaweesh.

    Source of the claim

The “burdmanorama” account commented on “Gazawood’s” tweet, saying, “Because of course they have propaganda for everything,” to which “Gazawood” replied, “That’s right.”

Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. The name of the released prisoner, Ibrahim Muhammad Khalil Shaweesh, was included in the official lists of the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, and the Prisoners’ Media Office. He was released during the fifth batch of the exchange deal on 8/2/2025. He was on the list of Gaza detainees after 7 October 2023.

The Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, and the Prisoners’ Media Office announced on Friday, 7/2/2025, that 183 prisoners, including 111 from Gaza; who were captured after 7 October2023, will be released as part of the fifth batch of the first phase of the exchange deal on 8/2/2025. The aforementioned competent authorities attached the names of the prisoners, including prisoner “Ibrahim Muhammad Khalil Shaweesh” from the Gaza Strip.

Released prisoner Ibrahim Al-Shaweesh appeared in a video after his release from Israeli prisons, with signs of torture. He spoke about the conditions of torture experienced by Palestinian prisoners, adding that he was arrested from one of the shelters in the northern Gaza Strip on 10/12/2023. He stated that he was subjected to “indescribable” torture, blindfolded, on his knees, and handcuffed, and Israeli occupation forces used electric shocks and police dogs to torture him.
