News outlets and social media platforms circulated a report attributed to Israel’s Channel 14, claiming that the Palestinian Authority handed over a young woman accused of carrying out a stabbing attack near the Modiin Illit settlement to Israeli authorities. The claim stated: “Channel 14: The Palestinian Authority handed over the perpetrator of the stabbing attack yesterday in the town of Deir Qaddis to Israel.”
Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. Although the report was indeed mentioned by Channel 14’s military correspondent, Hillel Rosen Peled, the girl’s family denied the claim to Kashif and confirmed that they they handed her over to Israeli authorities.
Mufid Sadaqa, the girl’s uncle, categorically refuted the report and clarified that her surrender was facilitated by her father, Mohammad Oudeh Sadaqa; her paternal uncle, Wajih Sadaqa; her maternal uncle, Mahfouz Sadaqa; and her mother.
The girl, 16-year-old suffers from a psychological disorder and is undergoing treatment. Her uncle explained, “At the time of the incident, she had not taken her medication, and the pressure from her family to take her high school exams caused her to lose control.”
He added that the family’s homes, including her paternal uncle’s house, were raided and vandalized by Israeli forces, escalating the pressure that ultimately led to her being handed over.
According to Israel’s official broadcaster KAN, an Israeli settler was stabbed on Sunday, 5/1/2025, after arriving in Deir Qaddis, west of Ramallah, to wash her car. Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army imposed a security cordon on the town of Deir Qaddis and conducted a wide-scale search operation looking for the girl accused of carrying out the stabbing attack.
