Old video circulates as chants of victory inside Gaza tunnels following the announcement of ceasefire agreement

Social media accounts circulated a video showing members of Hamas chanting “Allahu Akbar” inside a tunnel, claiming it depicted victory chants inside the tunnels following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The video was accompanied by the caption: “The most beautiful video I’ve seen today… resistance fighters raising victory chants from inside the tunnels.”

Kashif verified the video and found it to be old and misleading. The clip is extracted from a video published by Al-Qassam Brigades on November 4, 2023, documenting the targeting of Israeli forces in Beit Hanoun with “TBG” and “RPG” missiles and subsequent clashes.

Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, shared the full video on their Telegram channel on 4/11/2023. It was described as documenting the targeting of “special Zionist forces fortified in several buildings in Beit Hanoun with TBG and RPG missiles, followed by clashes,” on 3/11/2023. The circulated scene appears from second 54 until the end of the original video shared by the Al-Qassam Brigades channel.
