A video clip of a huge fire has recently spread on “ X ”, with the claim that it is a fire that broke out in Wadi Araba as a result of the fall of an Iraqi drone. The clip was accompanied by the following claim: “Breaking news: enemy media: Firefighter teams are working to extinguish the fire that broke out after Iraqi drone or fragments of it fell in Wadi Arab”.
Kashif verified the video via the “INVID” tool and found that it is old and incorrectly linked to the Iraqi march that targeted a site in the Jordan Valley. The video clip was published by “Al-Araby TV” account on Facebook on 8 June 2024 in a report with the following title: “A huge fire in a plastic products factory in Rishon LeZion”.
The video was accompanied by the following text: “Spread to neighboring buildings, a huge fire broke out in a factory in Rishon LeZion, Israel, containing plastic products and packaging materials.”
The Qastal news account also published on “X” on 8 June 2024 the same video, with the following text: “Hebrew media: A huge fire broke out in a factory in “Rishon LeZion” in central occupied Palestine, and 14 firefighting teams are working to extinguish it”.
The video clip was also published on the Israeli-Hebrew website “Walla” on 8 June 2024 in a report, “A large fire in an industrial building in the city of Rishon LeZion, and the collapse of the building’s roof”.
The report stated that a large fire broke out on Friday evening, 8 June 2024, in an industrial complex on Eliyahu Eitan Street in Rishon LeZion, which contained plastic products and packaging materials. 16 firefighting teams were called to the scene and reports indicated that thick smoke and the smell of burning were rising in the air in the area.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq published a statement at dawn on Wednesday, 25 September 2024, which stated: “The Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked today, Wednesday, 25/9/2024, using the Arqab “developed cruise” missile, a vital target in the north of our occupied territories”. The statement was also accompanied by a video clip documenting scenes of the drone targeting a target near the Jordan Valley.
Following this, the Israeli occupation army announced that it had detected a drone that had entered the airspace of Israel from the east, and that it had fallen in the Wadi Araba area. It also indicated that firefighting teams were working to extinguish the fire that broke out at the site of the drone’s fall or its parts, without providing details about the material or human losses.
