Social media accounts posted a video clip showing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying: “Iran made a grave mistake tonight and will pay the price. The Iranian regime does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and our determination to respond to our enemies. Sinwar and Deif did not understand this, and apparently neither Nasrallah nor Mohsen did. There are those in Tehran who do not understand this either, and they will understand. We will adhere to the rule we have set: whoever attacks us, we will attack them.”
The clip recently went viral following the Houthis’ targeting of Ben Gurion Airport, and was accompanied by the following text: “Netanyahu: Iran made a grave mistake tonight. We will attack Iran, not the Houthis. The Houthis are merely a tool in Iran’s hands. Ask the Iranians where Hassan Nasrallah is. We will make them understand.”

Kashif verified the video via “Invid”, and found that it is old and falsely linked to recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatening Iran. The clip was circulated on 2/10/2024, following the Iranian missile attack on the Israeli state.
Al Arabiya posted the video on its Facebook page on October 2, 2024, with the following caption: “Netanyahu on the Iran attack: A big mistake for which you will pay the price. Whoever attacks us, we will attack them back.”

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Saree announced in a statement on 4/5/2025, that “Ben Gurion Airport in occupied Jaffa was targeted with a hypersonic ballistic missile that successfully hit its target.”
Iran denied providing assistance to the Houthis after they targeted Ben Gurion Airport. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that “the Yemenis’ action to support the Palestinian people was an independent decision stemming from their sense of solidarity” with the Palestinians.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Iran, saying, “Israel will respond to the Houthi attack on our main airport at a time and place of our choosing (by targeting) their Iranian terrorist masters,” Tehran, in response to the threats, affirmed that it would respond to any attack on its territory.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced on Tuesday evening, 1/10/2024, that it had targeted three military bases in Israel with a missile attack. It confirmed that this operation came in response to the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.
