Social media accounts recently posted a video showing a car explosion, claiming that the video was taken in Lebanon, coinciding with the pagers explosion attack.

    One source of the claim

Kashif verified the video via the “INVID” tool and found that it is old and wrongly linked to the pager explosion attack in Lebanon. The video was published by the “TheMrSuslov” channel on YouTube on 14 June 2013 with the following title: “A car explodes with gas cylinders in Moscow”.

The Russian website “Argumentations and Facts” also published the video on 13 July 2013 in a report with the following title: “More than 100 gas cylinders exploded as a result of a truck accident on the Moscow Ring Road”.

The report stated that an accident occurred on the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road on Saturday evening, 13 June 2013, causing difficulties in the movement of vehicles and resulting in the explosion of 119 gas cylinders that were in the back of the truck.

Upon examining the video clip, Kashif’s team noticed that one of the cars appearing in the video has a plate number “A699yoI197RUS” with the Russian flag. Kashif also found that the symbol “RUS” refers to Russia.

The ICOM wireless devices exploded on Wednesday 18 September 2024, with their carriers inside homes in different areas of southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Lebanon.

On Tuesday, 17 September 2024, “Beiger” devices exploded with their carriers in southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Bekaa in eastern Lebanon, as well as in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the Rif Dimashq Governorate.

The Lebanese Minister of Health, Firass Abiad, announced on Thursday, 19 September 2024, that the death toll from wireless communications device explosions over the past two days has reached 32 dead.
