Social media accounts posted a photo of the Gaza sky illuminated by flares, claiming it was recent. The photo was accompanied by the following text: “Gaza now 12/4/2025.”

Kashif verified the image via Google Images tool and found that it is old, dating back to 2023 and not recent.
EPA published the circulated image on its website, stating that it was taken by photographer Mohammed Saber on 6/11/2023, and documents the illumination of flares fired by the Israeli occupation forces in the skies over western Gaza, in the northern part of the Strip.

According to the latest update from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll from the aggression on the Gaza Strip since 7/10/2023, has risen to 50,933 and 116,045 injuries, including 1,563 martyrs and 4,004 injuries since the resumption of the aggression on 18/3/2025.
