Social media accounts posted a video clip of the prisoner “Liri Elbaj” with her family after her release from Gaza, with the following claim: “The moment released Israeli prisoner “Amalia Doak Liri” met her family. When she cried, her mother asked her, “Did they torture you?” she said, “No, Mom.” “They are very kind and friendly young men. They took care of me like my father.”
Kashif verified the translation on the circulated video and found it to be misleading. Through a reverse search using “Google Images”, Kashif found that Channel 12 had published the video on 25/1/2025, with the following caption: “‘I heard a lot about you, you gave me hope’: Liri Elbaj with her family members at Beilinson Hospital.”
Kashif’s Israeli-Hebrew affairs team examined the circulated video and found that ElBaj, who was released from Gaza, did not mention any information about her treatment by the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, but rather said that her family gave her hope.
In a report published by i24 on 25/1/2025, it was explained that medical examinations at Beilinson Hospital showed that the condition of the four female soldiers who were released was good.
25/1/2025, Hamas released four female soldiers in the occupation army: Karina Arif, Daniel Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Elbag, while the occupation released 200 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life and long sentences, as part of the second batch of the exchange deal in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
