Information has spread on social media about the marriage of an Israeli female prisoner in the Gaza Strip to a Hamas member and the birth of a 3-month-old child. The claim reads: “According to the latest news from the ceasefire negotiations, a new dispute has emerged…!! An Israeli prisoner married a fighter and now has a 3-month-old child. Israel is demanding that she and her child be Israelis, while Hamas says that she married with her own consent and desire and that she will not leave Gaza. Hamas has presented the marriage certificate and official papers for the marriage and the newborn child and handed them over to the Egyptian mediator and the Americans.”

Kashif verified the information and found it to be fabricated. Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Mardawi, denied the information to Kashif and confirmed that it was baseless rumors.

Kashif’s Israeli-Hebrew affairs also searched the Hebrew media and websites, and did not find any mention of information talking about the marriage of one of the Israeli female prisoners to a Hamas member in the Gaza Strip.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip went into effect on Sunday, 19/1/2025, and Hamas released four female Israeli soldiers on 25/1/2025: Karina Arif, Daniel Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Elbag, while Israel released 200 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life and long sentences, as part of the second batch of the exchange deal in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.

On 30/1/2025, Hamas released Israeli soldier Agam Berger in Jabalia camp, Israeli prisoner Arbel Yehud and Israeli prisoner Gadi Moses, along with five Thais in front of the house of the former head of Hamas’s political bureau, Yahya Sinwar, while Israel released 110 Palestinian prisoners, including 20 who arrived in the Gaza Strip as part of the first phase of the exchange deal.
