Accounts on X shared a video clip showing a burning building, claiming that its an explosion of the research center in Damascus, Syria.
Kashif verified the video and through reverse search on Google, it found that the video was incorrectly linked. The circulated video was shared on social media on 28 August 2024, showing the Irsaeli occupation army bombing the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque in Al-Far’a Camp in Tubas city .
Palestine TV also published the same video on 28 August 2024, captioned: “The Israeli occupation blows up Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque in Al-Far’a camp.”
Photojournalist Hisham Abu Shaqra, told Kashif that the extent of the destruction in Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque is huge. Abu Shaqra added that the Israeli occupation forces blew up the ground floor of the mosque and the fire spread to other parts of the mosque and completely penetrated the facade of the mosque.
The Israeli occupation forces published a drone video, claiming it shows equipment used to make explosive devices and the entrance to the mosque, whose walls were covered with posters of martyrs.
The Israeli occupation army withdrew from the Far’a camp in the city of Tubas after a 30 hours military operation, 4 Palestinians were killed, 13-year-old Murad Masoud Ja’aysah, 17-year-old Muhammad Masoud Ja’aysah, 23-year-old Ahmed Saleh Nabrisi, and 22-year-old Ibrahim Abdul Qader Ghanimi, eight others were wounded due to the shelling, according to the Wafa Agency.
Syrian agencies, including Syrian TV, published pictures showing a large fire breaking out among trees near the Scientific Research Center in Damascus. Syrian sources added that explosions were heard near the center without specifying their source.
