Social media accounts posted a photo of a child with amputated legs and a dog next to him, claiming that he is from Gaza, “It is not a scene from the movie: We Don’t Know Where to Go,” and the claim was accompanied by the following hashtags: Gaza is being annihilated, Gaza is being annihilated and burned, Gaza in Genocide.” Indicating that the photo was taken during the current aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Kashif verified the image via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and that the claim is misleading. The image was circulated in 2016 and 2019 without mentioning details about the child, but its old publication confirms that it was taken before the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on 7/10/2023.
Facebook accounts, Oderfliw, posted the image on 30/3/2016 with the following caption: “Dogs don’t care if you don’t have a home, if you live on the street, or if your feet are missing. They don’t know how to tell, they love you for who you are, not what you have or what color your skin is.”

On Facebook, the photo was posted in July 2019, with no mention of any detail about the child, but focused on the dog being a friend to humans.
Account “ariete59283” posted the image on “facciabuco” platform on 8/2/2019 with the following text: “Dogs don’t care if you don’t have a home, if you live on the streets, or if your feet are missing. They don’t know how to differentiate, they love you for who you are, not for what you have or the color of your skin.”
Zoorprendente published the photo on 1/11/2019 in a report titled: “The photo of the child without legs sleeping in the street with his friend fills the world with feelings.”
