A design has been circulating on WhatsApp groups showing pictures and names of Israeli prime minister and Israeli military leaders, with Hezbollah’s logo in the top right corner. A mark was placed on the picture of Israeli army’s chief of staff, Herzi Halevi, indicating his assassination. The groups claimed that Hezbollah published the design after a drone attack on the Golani Brigade camp near Binyamina, south of Haifa.
Kashif verified the claim and found that it was subjected to plagiarism and manipulation. Kashif searched the official website of Hezbollah media and did not find an official statement announcing the killing of the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Herzi Halevi, or that he was the target of the operation on the Golani camp on Sunday 13/10/2024.
Original design and modified design with the addition of the Hezbollah logo
Upon examining the circulated design, Kashif found that the image was edited by adding the Hezbollah logo instead of the Iranian Ministry of Security logo. Media outlets and users on social media platforms circulated the design in early October 2024 with the Iranian Ministry of Security logo, and the design was accompanied by the following text: “Iranian intelligence threatens to assassinate senior occupation leaders… “We will reach you soon.” However, the Iranian Ministry of Security denied the news that there is a list of Israeli figures that Iran has identified to target.
Hezbollah announced on Sunday 13/10/2024, the launch of a drone attack on a training camp for the Golani Brigade in Binyamina, south of Haifa.
The Israeli occupation army announced the killing of four soldiers and the injury of 67 others as a result of a drone attack in Binyamina.
