“Moroccan Deterrent” account on “X” published a video clip of an explosive device being detonated and clashes with the Israeli occupation army, claiming that it was a recent incident during the military operation Israel launched against Jenin and its camp recently. The video was accompanied by the following claim: “The Palestinian resistance in Jenin camp in the West Bank confronts the invading occupation forces.”
Kashif verified the video and found that it is old and has been incorrectly linked to recent clashes with the occupation army. It was circulated on 14/9/2024 and documents scenes of clashes with the Israeli occupation army in the West Bank during confrontation last August.
Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, published the circulating video on its Telegram channel on 14/9/2024, and explained that it dates back to “scenes from the fierce battles carried out by the Al-Quds Brigades’ fighters in the West Bank during the Battle of the Terror of the Camps.”
The Israeli occupation army had launched a large-scale military operation in the cities and towns of the West Bank, called “Summer Camps” at the end of August 2024, where the operation was centered in Jenin camp, Nour Shams camp in Tulkarm, and Far’a camp in Tubas governorate. In contrast, the Al-Quds Brigades announced naming the battle its fighters are waging in the West Bank “Terror of the Camps.”
The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday 21/1/2025 the launch of a military operation in Jenin camp called “Iron Wall”, which has so far resulted in the killing of ten Palestinians and about 40 wounded. Meanwhile, the Jenin Battalion stated that its fighters are engaged in “fierce battles with enemy forces on the combat axes near the Horse Roundabout and Talat al-Ghabz, and are showering enemy forces and military vehicles with heavy hail of bullets and explosive devices.”
