Accounts on “X” recently shard a video clip showing a ship on fire, claiming that it was targeted by Hezbollah, “Hezbollah has officially begun striking the Israeli port of Haifa for the first time.”

    One source of the claim

Kashif verified the video via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and the claim is misleading. The video dates back to a fire that broke out on a ship in the port of Haifa on 10/6/2024, not recently.

Al Jazeera published the video on 10/6/2024 on Facebook, accompanied by the following text: “Scenes of a fire breaking out on a ship in Haifa Port, with no information about the causes.”

Al- Arabiya TV also published the video circulating on 6/11/2024 on Facebook, titled: “A fire broke out on an Israeli ship docked in the section designated for shipyards in Haifa Port.”

Israeli-Hebrew media confirmed on 10/6/2024 that there was no security incident in the port of Haifa, and no injuries were reported, and firefighting crews worked to extinguish the fire on the ship.

Hezbollah announced in a statement on 11/11/2024 that it had targeted the Krayot area and the Zovulon military industries base north of Haifa with rocket salvos. It also announced that it had targeted the Haifa naval base of the Israeli occupation army with suicide drones.
