Recently, accounts on “X” shared an image showing a fire, claiming it occurred in Tel Aviv. The image was captioned: “We bring you good news: Tel Aviv is on fire. It’s all burning.”

One of the sources of the claim

Kashif verified the image using “Google Images” and found it to be old and incorrectly linked to the alleged Houthi attack on a power station in the Umm Rashrash area. The image was originally circulated in October 2024 and documents a fire at a storage facility belonging to U.S. forces in Busan, South Korea.

The news agency Yonhap News Agency published the image on 25/10/2024, in a report titled: “Fire breaks out at U.S. Forces storage facility in Busan, South Korea.” The caption accompanying the image stated: “This photo, provided by a reader, shows a fire at a U.S. Forces storage facility in Busan, South Korea, in October 2024.”

According to the report, the fire occurred on 24/10/2024, at a storage center located 320 kilometers from Seoul. Over 160 personnel and 51 pieces of equipment were mobilized to extinguish the blaze, with no injuries reported.

Korea JoongAng Daily published another image of the same event from a different angle on 25/10/2024, describing it as: “Firefighters work to extinguish a blaze at a U.S. military storage facility in the southeastern coastal city of Busan on October 24.” Similarly,

Sputnik Arabic posted photos and videos of the event on Telegram on 24/10/2024, with the caption: “A large fire breaks out inside a U.S. Army supply warehouse in South Korea.” Local media suggested the fire might have been caused by construction work, with no reported casualties

On 14/1/2025, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced two military operations. One targeted Israeli military sites in the occupied Jaffa area using drones, while the other struck a power station in the Umm Rashrash area with a cruise missile.

This followed a 13/1/2025, announcement in which Saree revealed an attack on a vital target in Jaffa using a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile and four drones against other targets in the same region.
