Accounts on “x” published a photo of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with two of his advisors, claiming that it documents the moment the order was given to assassinate Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah from inside the United Nations building and in the presence of an American general.
Kashif verified the photo via the “INVID” tool and found that the claim is misleading. The photo was taken at Netanyahu’s residence in a hotel in New York, not at the UN headquarters. American newspaper Breitbart reported in a report published on 27 September 2024 that the photo was taken at Netanyahu’s residence in a hotel in New York.
Washington-based journalist Hadeel Owais also confirmed that the photo was taken inside the hotel where Netanyahu is staying in New York, not in the United Nations building or the Israeli embassy in Washington, which takes 5 hours by plane.
As for the presence of an American general standing next to Netanyahu, it turned out that this claim is also false. Kashif’s Israeli affairs team examined the photo published by the Prime Minister’s Office and found that the person standing next to him, wearing a formal suit, is Tzachi Barvarman, Netanyahu’s chief of staff, while the person wearing the military suit is General Roman Goffman, the military secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, and not an American general.
The Israeli occupation army launched extensive air strikes yesterday afternoon, Friday 27 September 2024, targeting 6 buildings in the southern suburb, and Israeli media reported that the target was Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, while Hezbollah media did not publish any statement about Hassan Nasrallah’s fate at the time.
