Accounts on “X” recently published a photo showing explosions, claiming that they were in Israel before the truce went into effect at dawn on Wednesday, 27/11/2024, “Now, violent explosions will target the occupied Zionist depth a short while ago.”
Kashif verified the image via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and was wrongly linked to Hezbollah targeting Israel. The image shows the effects of a bombing on the city of Haifa in October 2024.
Al Jazeera published the photo on 7/10/2024 in a report titled: “Hezbollah missiles hit Haifa and Tiberias, Israel bombs the suburb.” The photo’s description read: “The effects of the bombing on the city of Haifa.” The report stated that Hezbollah launched missile attacks targeting military sites in Haifa and Tiberias, wounding 10 people.
A report published by the English Al-Manar channel on 7/10/2024, which included the circulated image, stated that Hezbollah carried out a missile attack targeting Haifa. The Al-Manar website explained that “the circulated image is of Haifa following the Hezbollah missile attack on 6/10/2024.”
Hezbollah announced in a statement on Tuesday, 26/11/2024, that it had targeted a bulldozer and a Merkava tank near the town of Ibl al-Saqi, and camps and gatherings of the Israeli army in various areas, including Nahariya, Kiryat Shmona, and Acre, in addition to air strikes on sensitive bases in Tel Aviv and its suburbs.
These attacks came hours before the start of the truce between Hezbollah and Israel, which went into effect at dawn on Wednesday, 27/11/2024.
