Social media accounts shared a snapshot of a video showing a corpse claiming it’s a plank of wood inside a blue body bag and that the video is fake and published by Hamas.
Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. The video, which is originally 43-second was published on 23 November 2023 on “5Pillars” with the caption: “All cemeteries are full, the bodies of more than 100 Palestinian women, men and children were buried in a mass grave in Gaza.”
In the same context, dozens of media outlets worldwide covered the burial of 111 Palestinians in a mass grave in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, including Reuters, the Associated Press, Anatolia, Al-Jazeera, and others, along with a group of journalists in the Gaza Strip.
Videos of the burial site were shared by several journalists, including Al Jazeera’s Gaza correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh, and Gazan journalist Hassan Aslih.
On 22 November 2023, the bodies of 111 Palestinians who were killed by the Israeli wide-scale aggression and its bombardment of the Gaza Strip were buried in a mass grave in the city of Khan Younis, south of the Strip. The Israeli occupation army had detained the bodies of these Palestinians before their burial.
