Information attributed to Israeli-Hebrew media has spread on WhatsApp groups, stating: “The Palestinian Authority handed over to the Israeli army seven terrorists it had arrested from the Jenin Battalion.”
Kashif’s Israeli-Hebrew affairs team verified the information and found that it was fabricated. It searched the Hebrew media and websites and did not find any mention of the Palestinian security services handing over seven detainees from the Jenin Battalion to the Israeli occupation army.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that a security official in the Israeli occupation army said that the Israeli occupation army’s operation in Jenin came “in parallel with the Palestinian Authority’s operation because it did not do enough in its security campaign and that Israel will not wait for good intentions.”
Israeli Channel 14 also reported that the Israeli occupation army’s operation in Jenin camp is continuing on its third day, and that the army has assassinated 13 people and allowed 2,000 citizens to leave the camp.
Kashif’s team also contacted the official spokesperson of the Palestinian security forces, Anwar Rajab, who denied the information and confirmed it was fabricated. He added that “the security services withdrew from the Jenin camp, so that they and the Israeli occupation army would not be present in the same place, but the “Protect the Homeland” operation is still ongoing in places where the Israeli occupation army is not present.”
Rajab pointed out that the security services arrested on Thursday 23/1/2025, about “15 wanted persons” from the camp.
The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday 21/1/2025 the launch of a military operation in the Jenin camp called “The Iron Wall”, which has so far resulted in 12 fatalities and about 50 wounded.
On 14/12/2024, the Palestinian security services launched a security operation called “Homeland Protection,” saying that it aims to maintain security and civil peace, and establish the rule of law. The ongoing clashes between the security services and the militants inside the camp have resulted in 15 deaths, including five civilians, three children, a journalist, a militant, and six members of the Palestinian security services.
