Information attributed to Israeli-Hebrew Walla website has spread on social media about the assassination of Yair, the son of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, after his home in Caesarea was targeted by a drone launched from Lebanon, “Breaking: Israeli Walla website: Shin Bet confirms the assassination of Yair, Netanyahu’s young son, in Caesarea.”
Israeli-Hebrew affairs team at Kashif verified the information and found that it was plagiarism. It searched Israeli-Hebrew media and websites, including Walla, to which the claim was attributed, and did not find any mention of the announcement of the assassination of Yair Netanyahu.
Israeli-Hebrew website “Walla” also published a report on 19/10/2024 stating that “a drone penetrated from Lebanon and struck the Prime Minister’s building in Caesarea on Saturday morning. There were no reports of injuries and the Prime Minister and his wife were not present at the time of the incident.”
The office of the Israeli Prime Minister reported on Saturday, 19/10/2024, that a drone launched from Lebanon targeted Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea, north of Israel, and stated that he and his family were not present inside the house.
