Accounts on X published a video clip showing a group of prisoners lying on their stomachs with their hands tied, surrounded by a group of Israeli soldiers and a police dog, with the claim that the video is of prisoners from Hezbollah, “Hezbollah prisoners.”
Kashif verified the video via reverse search on Google, and found that the video is old and the claim is misleading. The video documents the abuse of a group of Palestinian prisoners inside Megiddo Prison, not Hezbollah prisoners. It was published by Israeli newspaper Haaretz on 7/9/2024, with the following title: “Israeli prison guards film the abuse of detainees; the Prison Service says it is a ‘routine exercise’.” Haaretz added: “Photos and video obtained by Haaretz show dozens of detainees lying on their stomachs in handcuffs, some without clothing, while a guard dog barks over them. No unusual incident took place in the prison to promote the guards actions.”
Haaretz also published the video on X on 6/9/2024, with the following title: “Documentation from Megiddo Prison this morning.”
The Israeli occupation army announced on 15/10/2024 that it had captured three Hezbollah members, bringing the number of Hezbollah members that Israel has announced having been captured since the start of ground operations in southern Lebanon to four.
The Israeli occupation has intensified its attacks against Hezbollah since mid-September, by blowing up the pager wireless communication devices used by party members on 17/9/2024, and assassinating Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah in the southern suburb of Beirut on 27/9/2024. On 30/9/2024, the Israeli occupation army announced the start of a ground operation in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health also announced that the number of citizens killed since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon rose to 2,574 and 12,001 wounded.
