A video clip showing a huge explosion has recently spread on social media, with the claim that it was Hezbollah bombing a petrochemical plant in southern Haifa, “Breaking: Hezbollah bombs the petrochemical plant in southern Haifa with precision missiles, and explosions shake Haifa.”
Kashif verified the video via “Google Images” tool and found that the video is old and the claim is misleading, as the video dates back to an Israeli bombing of Hudaydah in Yemen on 29/9/2024.
CNN Arabic published the video on 29/9/2024 and explained that it was of the Israeli occupation air force targeting the Yemeni coastal city of Hudaydah.
BBC also published the same video on 30/9/2024 and said that the clip “was circulated on social media and shows a huge explosion in the port of Hudaydah.”
While the Sputnik Arabic Agency account on “X” published the video clip on 29/9/2024, accompanied by the following description: “Circulating footage of the moment Israeli aircraft bombed fuel tanks in the port of Ras Issa, north of the city of Hudaydah in Yemen.”
The spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced on 30/9/2024 that the Israeli occupation “launched 17 raids on several civilian facilities in Al Hudaydah Governorate, including the port and the power station.”
Hezbollah announced on Sunday 27/10/2024 that it had targeted the Zevulon military industries base north of Haifa with a large missile salvo.
