A video clip has spread on social media documenting the effects of a rocket fired from Lebanon, claiming that it hit the settlement of Tira. The video was accompanied by the following text: “Huge destruction in the house that was directly hit by rockets in the settlement of Tira in central Israel.”
Kashif verified the information and found it to be inaccurate. Tira is an Arab town located in the southern triangle and is not a settlement, and the circulated video documents the effects of a missile falling there.
Journalist Maryam Saghir told Kashif that this video was from Tira, an Arab town in the occupied Palestine, located in the southern triangle.
Journalist Hassan Shaalan also posted the video on his personal Facebook page on 2/10/2024, with the following description: “Al-Tira, a statement from the medical teams talks about 8 injuries as a result of a missile falling on a building.”
Shehab Agency published the video on 2/11/2024, with the following description: “New scenes from the house that was directly hit by missiles in the town of Al-Tira in central occupied Palestine.”
The spokesman for the Israeli occupation army announced on 2/11/2024 that three missiles were launched from Lebanon towards Tel Aviv and the southern triangle area, and that interceptions were carried out while a missile was monitored falling in the area.
The occupation police announced that 19 people were injured as a result of a rocket fired by Hezbollah falling on the town of Tira in Israel.
