Accounts on X, formerly Twitter, shared a video of Palestinian activists and influencer Mahmoud Zuaiter, accompanying wounded children due to the Israel shelling, with the following caption: “Pallywood at it again. Here we have the same Dad twice just with different children. Wonder what they are given for such performance.”
Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. Kashif looked into the two clips and did not find any mention from Zuaiter or Palestinian media stating that the children appearing with Zuaiter are his children. Kashif also contacted Zuaiter, who denied the claim, stressing that he is not married and has no children, confirming that he is never mentioned in any video that the children are his.
He added that the first video clip with the little girl was taken in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, and the girl next to him is his niece, Yumna, and she is already known on social media platforms to his fans. Yumna and her mother were injured after an Israeli bombing of the building in which she resided on 23 February 2024, which led to the killing of 26 of his family.
As for the other video, which he was can be seen with three children, Zuaiter explained that they were from the Thabet family, as the Israeli occupation bombed their house next to Zuaiter’s house on 17 February 2024. He helped them and took them to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, where they took shelter since he was afraid the children would get lost, he stayed with them until one of their family members arrived.
Mahmoud Zuaiter is a Palestinian actor and director born in Deir al-Balah. He is famous for his comedic roles and has over 1.2 million followers.
