Accounts on “X” published a video clip of warplanes, claiming that they were Israeli warplanes, returning after bombing Iran on 26/10/2024.
Kashif verified the video and found that it is old, and was incorrectly linked to the Israeli military attack on Iran on Saturday, 26/10/2024. The video shows Egyptian military aircraft during a graduation ceremony of a Military College on 3/10/2024.
Videographer, Mohamed Mahmoud, told Kashif that the planes are of the Egyptian army, and that he took the clip in the Egyptian city of Shorouk during the graduation ceremony of the Military College in the New Administrative Capital at the beginning of this October.
Mahmoud had posted the video on his TikTok account “castel.eg” on 3/10/2024, with the hashtag (Egyptian Army). Meanwhile, a group of accounts posted the video on October 6 and 7, 2024, and stated that the video was of the Egyptian Army.
The Egyptian Military College celebrated the graduation of the 118th batch from the Military College and its counterparts from other military colleges on 3/10/2024, which witnessed the graduation of the 75th naval batch, the 91st air batch, the 61st military technical batch, the 52nd air defense batch, and the 53rd batch from the Technological College.
The Israeli occupation army announced Saturday at dawn 26/10/2024 in a statement that it had carried out a precise attack against Iranian military sites in several areas, including Iranian missile production sites, surface-to-air missile systems, and Iranian air capabilities, in response to the series of attacks launched by Iran against Israel in recent months.
