A video clip of a huge fire being put out by fire trucks has spread on social media, as of fire at the Israeli embassy in India.
The video included the voice of a broadcaster presenting a text that read: “Viewers, welcome directly to these images that we received a short while ago of the targeting of the Israeli embassy in India. Of course, this image has reached us now. Of course, the police are on the scene at the site, the Israeli embassy where this explosion was heard and are also investigating what happened. The clip was accompanied by the following claim: “Targeting and bombing the Israeli embassy in India. Have operations abroad against Zionist interests begun?”
Kashif verified the video and found that it is old, the audio is fabricated, and the claim is misleading. The video is of fire in a shopping mall in the American city of Whittier on 10/9/2024, not at the Israeli embassy in India.
Kashif’s team noted that the circulated clip contains scenes taken from a video clip published by the “onscene.tv” on 10/9/2024, and the video was accompanied by the following title: “Major commercial fire in Strip Mall.” The website added that the fire included a pizza restaurant on Telegraph Road and Mills Street in the American city of Whittier.
Four businesses and a Pizzamania restaurant were damaged in a fire at the one-story mall in the 13500 block of Telegraph Road, Los Angeles Times reported on 9/10/2024.
The audio clip attached to the video is of Al Arabiya presenter during a coverage of an explosion near the Israeli embassy in India , as Al Arabiya published on YouTube on 26/12/2023.
