A video clip showing a convoy of trucks  has been recently shared on social media, accompanied by the following claim: “A Jordanian citizen documents on video the size of the Saudi supply and support convoys to Israel.”

A source of the claim

Kashif verified the video through reverse search using the “INVID” tool and found that it is old and the claim to be misleading. The circulating clip is an excerpt from a video published by the “ Al-Ikhbariya Channel” account on “X” on 11 February 2023, captioned: “Scenes from Saudi relief aid for earthquake victims in Syria.” The circulating clip is located between 0:37 – 0:48 seconds of the original video.

Video clip from the “Al-Ikhbariya Channel” account dated 11/2/2023

Kashif’s team also found, through examining the video clip, that the trucks carried banners that read: “Popular Campaign to Aid Earthquake Victims in Turkey and Syria,” and others that read: “Popular Campaign to Aid Earthquake Victims in Syria.”

On 11 February 2023, the “ Syria TV ” channel published a report on YouTube covering the moment the Saudi relief convoys arrived in Syria. The report explained that Saudi Arabia brought in the first relief convoys by land through the Al-Hamam village crossing in the Jandairis district of Afrin, carrying medical and shelter relief supplies provided by the King Salman Center for Relief in order to distribute them in the affected Syrian and Turkish regions.
