A video clip has recently spread on social media showing an explosion in a clothing store, with the claim that it was in Haifa as a result of Hezbollah missiles, “One of Hezbollah’s missiles that fell on Haifa yesterday.”
Kashif verified the video via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and wrongly linked to Hezbollah targeting Haifa. The clip was circulated in August 2020 and documents the moment of the Beirut port explosion on a store’s CCVT.
On 13/8/2020, Asharq Al-Awsat published the video clip in a report with the following title: “New footage of the explosion in Beirut.” The report explained that the clip documents the footage captured by the security camera of a store in the Lebanese capital during the Beirut port explosion on 4/8/2020.
A report published by Youm7 website on 12/8/2020, which included a video clip, stated that a surveillance camera inside a clothing store in the capital Beirut documented the workers leaving the place at the moment of Kashif’s Observatory team noticed that the clip included the date 4/8/2020.
A huge explosion occurred on 4/8/2020 in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, which resulted in the destruction of entire neighborhoods, killed more than 220 people, and exacerbated the economic collapse in the country.
Hezbollah announced in a statement on 11/11/2024 that it had targeted the Krayot area and the Zevulon military industries base north of Haifa with rocket salvos.
