Accounts on “ X ” published a photo showing a burning ship, accompanied by the following claim: “A commercial ship was attacked by a drone 50 miles west of Hodeidah, Yemen”.
Kashif verified the image via “Google Images”, and found that it is old and was incorrectly linked to a commercial ship that was attacked by a drone west of Hodeidah, Yemen. Gettyimages published the image on 13 June 2019, stating that the image shows “fire and smoke rising from the Norwegian oil tanker “Front Altair” that was said to have been attacked in the waters of the Gulf of Oman”.
The British maritime security company, Ambrey, announced on Monday, that a drone hit a commercial ship 50 nautical miles west of Hodeidah, Yemen. Adding that there were no reports of injuries or damage.
