A photo of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has widely circulated on social media, with the claim that Israeli-Hebrew media published it of Netanyahu’s visit to Jenin.
Kashif verified the image and through reverse search on Google, found that the image is old. The Jerusalem Post published the image on 18 July 2024 with the following title: “Netanyahu in Rafah: Israeli army control of the Philadelphi corridor is necessary”.
Netanyahu, also published a video clip on his official page on X, documenting scenes from his visit to the Gaza Strip.
Kashif also looked into Israeli-Hebrew media and official sources and found no mention of Netanyahu’s visit to the city of Jenin during the military operation that has been ongoing for 4 days.
The Israeli occupation army announced a military operation in the city of Jenin and its camp and continues its aggression for the fourth consecutive day, amid widespread destruction of the infrastructure and the imposition of a siege on the camp and the eastern neighborhood in the city of Jenin. Until the publishing of this report, 12 Palestinians were killed during the operation, including 6 by the Israeli drones.
